Welcome :)
My name is Taylor Armstrong (she/her). I am a Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate) and a Canadian Certified Counsellor.
I work collaboratively with my clients to co-create a therapeutic relationship where my client is positioned as the expert on their own life. I do not believe in “one size fits all” therapeutic modalities. My goal is to meet each client exactly where they are with an approach that is deeply person-centred.
I believe all people possess within them the resources necessary to facilitate growth and change. At times, trauma, life stressors and structural barriers may impact a person’s ability to connect with this inner knowing. I view my role as a therapist as one where I walk alongside my clients, offering guidance as necessary on their journey towards health and healing.
I strive to honour my clients’ many intersecting identities by inviting them to show up as their most authentic selves. I welcome any individual or partnership where the individuals are 18+.
My practice is informed by my training, research, counselling adjacent professional experience and my own lived experiences. I am trained in the Gottman Method (Levels 1 & 2), Motivational Interviewing, and am currently working towards certification in Emotion-Focused Therapy.
My own experience navigating addiction and recovery ignited within me a passion for helping others struggling with addictions. I have a combined 7 years experience between my role as a counsellor and previous work in the shelter system supporting individuals with substance use concerns.
In addition to my passion supporting individuals with addiction and recovery I also support individuals who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, identity, relationship issues or other general mental health concerns.
We are social creatures. I believe the development and maintenance of healthy relationships is integral to our well-being. I support partnerships of all forms (monogamous/poly/open) who are looking to decrease unhealthy conflict, and deepen connection.
If it sounds like I may be the right fit, I would love to connect with you!

Hi there,
Thanks so much for taking the time to learn about me and my practice.
My name is Sam, and I’m a Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, as well as a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and that a strong therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change. I approach each session with the belief that every individual holds the capacity for growth, empowerment, and deeper connection—with themselves and with others. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel truly seen and heard.
I work with couples and individuals 18+, both in person and virtually. My experience includes supporting clients through relationship conflict, recovery from intimate partner violence, trauma, anxiety, self-worth issues, emotional regulation, and more. I use a comprehensive, integrative approach, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities to best support your unique needs.
A little about me personally: I’m originally from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, and moved to Halifax 15 years ago to attend university. After graduating, I worked as a women’s support counsellor in homeless shelters and transitional housing for women and children fleeing intimate partner violence. These powerful experiences led me to pursue a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, driven by a desire to make a broader impact on mental health services here in Nova Scotia.
When I’m not with clients, you’ll likely find me spending time with friends and family—probably singing karaoke (off-key, of course) or planning our next adventure – I love to travel!
I know that change can be scary. My goal is to listen to your story, help you explore how disconnection may be affecting your life, and work alongside you to chart a new way forward.
I look forward to learning more about you.
Warmly,
Sam

Hi there, I’m Christina (she/her), a registered counselling therapist with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists, and I’m glad you’re here. I offer client-centred support to individuals and families across the lifespan. That said, my heart holds a special place for children and teens.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a child and youth care worker — a role that instilled in me a deep respect for the challenges young people face and the strength they possess. I believe that therapy isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about building a relationship rooted in trust, warmth, and curiosity. I work collaboratively and approach every session with the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to support you in showing up just as you are — no pressure, no judgment, just space.
Over the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of individuals, including children, youth, adults, families, and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Many of the people I’ve supported have faced tough stuff — including trauma, substance use, grief, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, disability, oppression, and systemic barriers. These experiences have shaped the lens I bring to therapy: one that is compassionate, inclusive, and always learning.
My areas of focus include supporting neurodivergent individuals, working through anxiety and trauma, and using play therapy to help clients, especially children, youth and families—express, process and explore their experiences in a safe and creative way. Therapeutically, I take an integrative approach, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Theraplay, and, of course, Play Therapy. I’m currently a play therapy intern with the Canadian Play Therapy Association (CAPT) and proudly sit on the board of the Atlantic Canada Play Therapy Association (ACPTA). I’m also a certified AutPlay Therapy Provider, which means I use the therapeutic powers of play to support neurodivergent kids and teens (ages 3–18) and their families. You can learn more about AutPlay here: autplaytherapy.com.
When I’m not in the therapy room, you’ll find me hanging out with my partner, our cat Cleo, and our wonderfully quirky rescue pup, Nora. I’m also a lifelong figure skater, and there’s something about the crisp winter air that brings me a sense of calm and clarity (yes, winter is my favourite season). Thanks for stopping by — I look forward to connecting with you.

Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Catherine (she/her), and I’m a Registered Counselling Therapist (Candidate) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I specialize in supporting children, teens, adult women, and families who are navigating life’s challenges and searching for hope, healing, and connection. Whether you’re a parent seeking support for your child, a teen facing overwhelming emotions, or an adult woman trying to reconnect with herself, I’m here to help.
My therapeutic work is rooted in a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and person-centered approach. At the heart of my practice is a belief that we all carry deep inner resources for growth and resilience. Sometimes, we just need a safe, caring space to uncover them. I bring warmth, curiosity, and compassion into each session. I view healing through the lens of attachment, believing that feeling safe and seen is the foundation for meaningful change. I also integrate a range of therapeutic modalities, including Play Therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Compassion-Focused Therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness practices—to tailor support to each client’s unique needs.
For children, I approach the therapeutic relationship from a play-based approach. Why play therapy? It works! Play therapy is an evidence-based practice that creates an ideal environment for growth by allowing children to engage their whole brains. During Play, a child relaxes and will express themselves in ways they can’t through language. Play therapy allows both your child and you to figure out what’s really going on inside of them and how to help. In the playroom, slaying a dragon can mean conquering fear in the real world. Play becomes a powerful tool for helping children process big emotions, heal from trauma, and build new ways of being in the world. Since caregivers are essential to the success of a child’s therapy, I also offer ongoing support and consultation as a part of my services. My goal is to help children develop into secure, resilient individuals who know themselves deeply, and empower their families to support them.
For teens and adults, I offer a grounded, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences, strengthen your coping skills, and reconnect with your authentic self. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, emotional regulation, and family dynamics. I especially love helping young women and caregivers explore their identities, needs, and personal stories as they move toward greater self-compassion and balance. I believe healing is not about fixing what’s broken—it’s about uncovering what’s already whole. My goal is for every client to leave our work together feeling safe, seen, and empowered—with a deeper understanding of themselves and the skills to face life’s challenges with confidence.
I offer in-person appointments for children, and families, and both in-person and virtual sessions for teens and adults. I also provide ongoing consultation and support to caregivers, because when one family member is supported, the whole family can grow.
If you or someone you love could use a compassionate partner in healing, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Contact me for a free 15-minute consultation - we can talk about your needs, your goals, and whether we’re a good fit.
I look forward to meeting you.
